KSM

One tool - two cutting methods. The Scoring Cutting Tool can be used for through-cutting and scoring applications involving materials up to 5 mm / 3/16“ thick.

The Scoring/Cutting Tool is used for scoring as well as through-cutting a wide range of materials up to a thickness of 5 mm / 3/16“. Zünd recommends the SCT especially for carton and varnishing-plate applications. The cutting/scoring process is performed with drag knives.

Through-cut: For through-cutting, the blade is pneumatically extended for cutting with the entire length of the cutting edge if necessary. The desired cutting depth can be set in the cutter software or Zünd Cut Center.

Score: For scoring, the blade is pneumatically retracted for cutting a specified distance into the material. The scoring depth is set manually on the SCT tool itself. The glideshoe presses down on the substrate with constant pressure while the blade cuts down to the set depth.

This guarantees consistent, high-quality scores. All flat-stock drag knives Zünd offers can be used with the SCT. An optional, spring-loaded glide shoe is available for processing particularly challenging materials.
